4 July 2012 � More than 1,250 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions are on hand for the 19th HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer, which opened yesterday and continues through 6 July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

4 July 2012 � More than 1,250 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions are on hand for the 19th HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer, which opened yesterday and continues through 6 July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
The fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), features new product zones designed to attract visitors. They include 87 buying missions from 70 countries and regions, representing more than 4,600 buyers from over 3,000 companies.
New Theme Zones
The new theme zones, Fashion Jewellery Feast and Salon of Scarves & Shawls, will help buyers source products effortlessly. Other product zones include Brand Name Gallery, Bridal & Evening Wear, Denim Arcade, Infant & Children�s Wear, International Fashion Designers� Showcase and Intimate & Swim Wear.

Fashion Collections
Fashion Week special events include today�s �Fashionally Collection #1,� in which a variety of finalists from the three most recent Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest will stage 11 fashion collections, while The Hong Kong Polytechnic University will stage the MA Graduation Fashion Show 2012.
House shows on day two will feature collections by international fashion designers from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as from the Hong Kong Apparel Society and The School of Continuing Professional Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
A fashion show featuring winners of the EcoChic Design Award Hong Kong 2012 Grand Final, organised by Hong Kong-based Redress, will take place 5 July. That same day, A Brand Collections� Show will feature AFRIQUE, by Ika Butoni, and MaConsef S/S Collection 2013, by the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre.

Fashion Japan
Japan is also in the Fashion Week spotlight. The Kokusai Fashion Centre will bring 12 fashion Japanese designers to Hong Kong.
International fashion parades will be held each day, and make-up and hairstyle demonstrations by MAC Cosmetics and Tigi, respectively, will also take place. On day two, both the Hong Kong Apparel Society and the Foshan CCPIT Pavilion will host after-show cocktail receptions.
Market Trends
Daily seminars will spotlight the latest market developments. Today, WGSN and Peclers Paris will focus on fashion trends for spring/summer 2013 and beyond in two seminars. Tomorrow�s seminars will look at global trends by Stylesight, the Taiwan garment industry and sustainable design, organised by Redress.
On the show�s third day, seminars will be organised by the Hong Kong Accreditation Service (testing and certification), The Woolmark Company (merino trends for fall/winter 2013) and Fashion Snoops (fashion trends).
