The 39th issue of the famous calendar was shot by an Italian photographer Mario Sorrenti. The 2012 edition features natural nude shots of Guinevere Van Seenus, Milla Jovovich, Lara Stone, Joan Smalls, Malgosia Bela, Natasha Poly, Isabeli Fontana, Kate Moss, Margareth Made, Rinko Kikuchi, Edita Vilkeviciute, and Saskia de Brauw. All photoshoots took place on the French island of Corsica.
The Pirelli Calendar has become famous for its limited availability. It is not available for purchase and is sent out to especially chosen individuals, including royalty and celebrities.
The first edition of the calendar was released in 1964. It was photographed by Robert Freeman. Since then, many well-known photographers have participated in the Pirelli Calendar: Annie Leibovich (2000), Mario Testino (2001), Patrick Demarchelier (2005, 2008) and Karl Lagerfeld (2011) are just few of the great photographers who have made their mark on the iconic series.

DID YOU KNOW?
Kate Moss had dated Sorrenti in the early 1990s, and he was the man behind the famous Calvin Klein campaign that shot her to fame.
"I met Kate when we were both at the very beginning of our careers. Somehow we both kind of exploded into the fashion scene at a very young age. She exploded as a supermodel, and things just took off." said Sorrenti.
